Let's CLEAN HOUSE in 2004! Elections are next year. Cancel your vacations the first week in November, rearrange your work calendar, and GET OUT AND VOTE!! Send a message to this 108th Congress that we have had enough of the preemptive strike doctrine, wasteful government spending, the EVER INCREASING national debt, entitlement programs, and BIG government! Your liberties and the American way of life are at stake. Only 66 Representatives and 1 Senator voted against the PATIROT ACT. And that's just one example. I'm voting my conscience and am not naive enough to think my hopeful candidate will win (Michael Badnarik-Libertarian) but we Americans need a change of government. If not for us, for our children, for it is they, who will be financing all of this bureacratic waste and fraud with thier tax dollars. It won't be long before America is fiscally insolvent. If we haven't gotten there already. VOTE!! Write your congressmen, and newspaper editors. Speak out...before it's too late.

When are Texans going to rally against this proposed legislation to curtail even more of our civil liberties? John Ashcroft and our Legislators are turning America into a communist-type country by trying to limit our free speech, branding anyone who has a different opinion from the Government's as an "enemy combatant", holding people without trial for indefinate lengths of time, conducting raids and seizures all without a warrant or court authority, turning neighbor against neighbor to build a national "spy" network, violating the 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th Amendments to the Constitution, and granting the Executive Branch unprecedented and largely unchecked surveillance powers.
The Patriot Act (Patriot I) was hastily passed without any debate or hearings and under a cloak of fear (Sep 11th), but the law is dangerous and an insult to Americans for it's complete abdication of democratic law and principles. Is this the America you want for yourself and your family?
